1883, Jan. 4: Death of Rebecca Davis, 88 years old, of 3300 Race St.  She was born in Philadelphia and never married.  She was confirmed in the Protestant Episcopal Church in 1846.  (Phila. Death Index and church records)

 

1886, Aug. 14: Death of Owen Hughes, 66 years old, of 3300 Race St.  He was born in Chester Co., Pa.

 

1892, Oct. 12: Death of Annie Laivs, 63 years old, of 3300 Race St. She was black and worked as a cook.  She was widowed.  (Phila. Death Index)

 

1905, Philadelphia Inquirer: “Mr. and Mrs. Eli B. Hallowell, of 3300 Race street, are spending August near Portland, Maine.” (Aug. 6, 1905)
