1869, Apr. 9: Transfer 3405-3407 Baring St. and 3404-3406 Hamilton St. from Alexander J. Andrews and wife to Robert Glendenning, Jr. trustee.

1870, July: Deed transferred from John Doyle to William H. List.

1870, November: Deed transferred from William H. List to George W. Kendrick.

William List lived next door at 3406 Hamilton St.

Carver W. Reed & Co. was a pawnbroker at 1514 Market St. and the corner of Market and S. 17^th St.

1882, July: Deed transferred from George W. & Minnie M. Kendrick to Asa S. Wing.

1887 Directory: Asa S. Wing, vice-president of Provident Life & Trust Co.

Asa S. Wing was born in Massachusetts about 1849. In the 1881 Directory, he was listed at 18 S. 38^th St. He was Assistant Actuary for Provident. He was apparently promoted that year to Actuary and Vice President. In 1900, he and his wife, Sylvia, had been married 27 years and had no children. They were living at “Bartram House” near 3320 Woodland.

Provident Life & Trust Co. was incorporated in 1865. In 1887, it advertised $1,000,000 in capital and $19,500,000 in assets.

Molton R. Sample was born in 1825 in Lancaster, PA. and died in 1902. Martha’s maiden name was Martha Letitia Knox. In 1880, Molton and Martha lived in Coastville, Chest Co. Molton R. Sample was a “segar” manufacturer.
