3413-3415: Circa 1875, Italianate-style, three-story double with East lake -inspired wood porch; stone facade over brick. Full-height first-floor windows; double bracketed wood cornice; flat roof. Four registers to each floor having stone segmental lintels.”

            Louis is the son of Peter A. Erben b. about 1790.  In 1870, they lived at 206 N. 19th St.  His brother, Walter Erben, lived next door at 3415 Baring St.

                         Harry R. Shirk, (M. H. Darrow & Co.)

                                    In 1887, they both lived at 206 N. 36th St.  In 1906, Shirk lived at 516 N. 34th St.

 

1892: Marcus H. Darrow joined a law suit aimed at stopping the electric trolleys on Baring St. to replace the old horse-drawn streetcars.  (See the Powelton History Blog for details.)

            In 1920 they lived with their father, William H. Marshall, and another sister, Anna, at 2126 Vine St.  In the 1920 census, their ages are given as 45, 33, and 40.
