Frank Tobey was the purchasing agent
for the Allison Manufacturing Co.
Allison was the first company to produced passenger railway cars. However, they ceased production of passenger
cars in 1866 and focused on freight cars.
They also produced a wide range of other items such as piping and
furnace flus. Tobey became President of
Allison in 1891. Frank and his sister,
Laura, were active in the Unitarian Church.

car building” (probably J. G. Brill Co. or Allison Manufacturing Co.).
The 1895 Directory lists him at 3433
Lancaster Ave. He was running a
laundry at 3624 Lancaster Ave.
In 1910, they lived at 5035 Walnut
St. Mary’s mother, Martha E. Duncan,
lived with them. In 1920, they lived in
Lansdowne, Delaware Co.
