1867 directory lists him living at 609 N. 17th St. He had an insurance office at 409 Walnut
St. He was a partner of Joseph Tillinghast. The
partnership was dissolved in 1868 (Phila.
Inquirer, Jan. 2, 1868)
The
1880 census and the 1889 Directory list them at 3602
Hamilton St. In 1900, William was
living at 3417
Hamilton St. with his second wife, Annie.
In 1906 and 1910, they were living at 3419
Hamilton St. John
had joined his father in the insurance company by 1889 (about age 21) and in
1889-’90 moved to 4330 Wallace.
