Second Empire-style; two-and-one-half story, double; stone facade over brick
construction. First-floor full-height windows partially enclosed; porch
removed. Applied decorative wood cornice below slate-shingled
mansard which has four wood gabled dormers. This double was built with
its neighbor 3705-07.”

fashionable weddings of the season was solemnized yesterday in the Northminster
Presbyterian Church, Thirty-fifth and Baring streets, when Miss Alice Carey
Jenkins was married to Dr. John G Fuller. The ceremony was performed by the
pastor of the church, the Rev. Robert H Fulton, D. D., assisted by J. Addison
Henry, D. D., of Princeton Presbyterian Church.
“The bridesmaids were Miss Eleanor
List, Miss Lilian Fitler,
Miss Bertha Welsh [3419 Hamilton St.], Miss Mary Lowery, and Miss Ella Fuller,
sister of the groom. The ushers were Albert E. Hoskins; of New York, Robert E.

March 6: Death of Rebecca F. Baker, 74 years old, of 3703 Powelton Ave. She was born in Philadelphia and was
widowed. She was buried at North laurel
Hill Cemetery.
1898,
Sept. 1: Death of Josephine A. Allen, daughter of the late John and Catherine
Allen. Funeral at her late residence, 3703 Powelton Ave.
1900,
April 25: “A pretty wedding took place
on Wednesday at the residence of Mrs. Rachel Allen, 3703 Powelton avenue, when her daughter, Miss Marion Allen, was married to
Dr. William Nesbitt Armstrong, of Lock Haven, by Rev. Joseph Wilson Cochran,
pastor of Northampton
Church. The bride was given away by
her uncle, Colonel W. W. Allen [3417
Hamilton St.]. Miss Mary Armstrong,
a sister of the groom, was maid of honor, and the best man was Dr. Summer Shailor, of New York.
A reception followed the ceremony.
Later Dr. and Mrs. Armstrong left for a trip through the South. They will reside in Lock Haven.” (Phila. Inquirer, April 29, 1900).

of John and Catherine Allen. Burial was
at Woodlands Cemetery.
