The History of the Building
The south side of this block was developed by John Shedwick (see 3408 Race
St.). The first residents appear
toward the west end of the block in the 1862 directory (compiled in the fall of
1861) with the street listed as Hampton Place.
3704-3718: “three-story
Italianate doubles, with bracketed flat overhanging roof, stuccoed;
side projecting bays… 3708 - Circa 1920 second floor addition, facade roughcasted and shutters added. Victorian
porch.”
