The History of the Building

 

This house is situated on a large lot that encompasses 3705-3713.  The 1878 Scott Atlas shows an empty lot owned by William A. Porter that includes 3707-3713.  Two land transfers from Porter to Charles J. Allen were registered in March and November, 1879.

            In June 1880, they lived at 528 Pine St.  He listed his occupation as Òtreasurer.Ó  They did not have any children.  MarthaÕs sister, Susannah House lived with them.
