            Sally was the widow of Owen Evans who sold china.  In 1857, he had a store at 503 Market St. and they lived at “Kinsessing above Buist Lane” (probably the 6900 block of Kingsessing).  Owen died about 1857-’59.  In 1860, Sally and their children lived in Mantua (Ward 24, Precinct 6).  She listed her real estate holdings at $17,000 and her personal property at $300.  In 1870, they lived at 3503 Baring St. and Sally was a teacher.
