            In 1900, they lived at 804 N. 41st St.  He and his wife, Agnes, had been married 10 years and had 3 children.  In 1880, John was living with his parents, John H. C., Sr. and Ida Whiting at 122 N. 21st St.  His father was born in Maryland and was president of Review Publishing and Printing, Co.

            “John H. C. Whiting.

            “After a three month's illness, Secretary John H. C. Whiting, of the American Exchange and Review', of Philadelphia, died at his home on Tuesday evening, aged fifty-five years. He was active in many circles outside of the insurance business, a director of the American Sunday School Union, a trustee of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, a member of the Union League Club and the Life Underwriters Association of Philadelphia. Mr. Whiting was recently elected a director of the County of Philadelphia Fire [Insurance Co.].

            “Prior to his long and valuable connection with insurance journalism, Mr. Whiting was in the local agency business in Philadelphia. A sterling and lovable character, of splendid mentality and broad influence, his death is universally regretted.”

            In 1917, John Whiting III was living at 6117 Jefferson St.  He was self-employed working as an amusement manager at Ocean City, N.J.
