
The History of the Building
The south side of this block was developed by John Shedwick (see 3408 Race
St.). The first residents appear
toward the west end of the block in the 1862 directory (compiled in the fall of
1861) with the street listed as Hampton Place.
3720-22:
“Circa 1870,
three-story, Italianate double with bracketed flat overhanging roof, stuccoed.
1905 Colonial Revival porch; Circa 1950 colonial first-floor windows…. 3722 has
side projecting bay.”
